The infamous Tack Moisture proofing mod.

Has he ever revealed which super wonderful product he sprays on that costs a fortune?

I'll buy a can and do these 2 ctw's here.

I'm almost positive it is just PCB lacquer.

You would have to mask of the button, and possibly coat the button in silicon grease after to make sure you don't get water ingress there but that is pretty much it.

JD Airsoft does a spray product called "Aqua Stop". I think this works for a quick and easy job ... Have known customers to use it on their PTW's and repels the water and damp very well.

It is ... search "Aqua Stop". Can't link as I am such a newbie (7 day pap).

James is right. This stuff works that well a bloke did a test and put a light bulb in water with it switched on. Worked a treat! Don't try this at home kids!

Thats the stuff - stop spoiling all Tacks trade secrets, he may not be able to afford a new Mercedes at this rate if we keep doing the mods ourselves and saving £££ hundreds Laughing

cheers

Lol, little do people know he doesnt actually do the motor rewinds himself neither, i was informed by a ptw forum user that he sends them to somebody else hence why they take so long.

No its nothing to do with me Very Happy
But I will stand up for Tac on this one (maybe not his price Smile ) but its not just the rewind, you need a comm lathe etc etc so, he may or may not do the winding, I have no idea. But there is quite a lot of work in doing it properly, and a few people who say they have tac motors dont, as there are a few telltale things which are missing from some supposed tac motors - and it isnt a simple case of rewinding either Im afraid.

Just moisture proofed mine with MAPLIN PCB LACQUER

Took the electronics off the gun then sprayed them with several coats (allowing each coat to go tacky first) then allowed it to harden overnight.

Job done.......another Tac mod sorted for less than £5 sunny
