There is A LOT of confusion with regard to Lipo batteries and the CTW.

These are the batteries I have

11.1V 2200mAh 25C 55AMPs Two-stick model

This should work in my 2010 CTW with ANY cylinder, correct ?

Just switched the gun over to Deans Ultra COnnectors tonight and the CTW fires just fine with the battery pack described above !

Check out www.hobbycity.com as well, they have some pretty good prices on batteries and chargers. (the best ones are either the Zippy or Turnigy) also the BlueLiPo brand is good state side. Of curse these are rc batteries so won't fit so good in the crane stock. I also have had good luck with the FireFox stick lipos form www.ebaybanned.com

I would say 25C is a bit much on the motor, be careful. I would not go above 20C -

I use 15C 1100 Mah and I can go for two days without charging it...

It's not ABOUT C rating it about current (AMPs)

The pack you're using is 16.5 AMPs technically that's underpowering the motor ... how many rounds are you shooting in two days ?

C rating is current... I have members of my team who are using 12C batteries in their CTW's/PTW's and they will out shoot, out range, and out perform any other weapon. In 2 days on average I will go through about 1000-2000 rds (depending on the op and the game. My team represents mil-sim so we don't throw BB's away like paintballers)

There is a solidified difference between 12C, 15C, 20C, 25C ratings and it's all about power.

With regards to buying batteries... I have found that khmountain.com and ebaybanned.com have been the cheapest w/ the best quality...

C is discharge rate. C is NOT current AMPs.

C doesn't mean squat without the capacity (mAh) to figure out the AMPs.

Since neither Celcius nor Systema have ever documented the actual current requirements for their respective electronics systems it has been up to the us, the users, to figure out what that system requirement is. Celcius recommends their house brand batteries but people have reported issues with the gun not cycling with their Celcius 12C 1500mAh Lipos which are 16.5AMPs. The recent consensus is 25-35 AMPs is the nominal requirement of the PTW. Under the assumption that the tolerances of the PTW
are higher than the CTW one could theorize that the CTW current requirement "should" be a little higher at around 30-40 AMPs.

You are correct to caution those who would use the same battery I chose 2200mAh 25C = 55AMPs because that is providing too much current. I have been told by electrical engineers from the UConn Airsoft team that using batteries with too much current can/will burn up motor brushes more quickly.

>>>>>I've got a comment on the battery. Most people assume a Lipo because of it's higher voltage will give you enough power. Well these people are completely wrong. Voltage only goes so far. When you speak of the 9.6v not working well on the CTW and then you recommend a "11.1v 20C" lipo, you're not making any sense nor telling us anything we need to know about voltage or amperage requirements.

When you say 20C what mah rating lipo are you speaking of? For those who don't know this is important becuase Lipo amperage is determined, just like any other battery, by the C rating (times) the mah rating of the pack.

Here are examples...
*11.1v 30C 3300mah pack provides 99amps (HUGE)
*11.1v 20C 1200mah pack provides 24amp (Pitiful - barely more than the average 9.6v Nicd pack)
*11.1v 20C 2000mah pack provides 40amps (Just enough to power a PTW since the motor draws 20-35amps on average to power a 400fps cylinder)

I can use a 12v 1500mah 40amp NiMH or my 11.1v 3300mah 99amp lipo and have the same exact ROF (16-17RPS). However is I use any 12v battery or 11.1v battery with less than a 35amp C rating then the ROF drops immediately.

So to be clear with your review and assertions on battery power, can you please be more specific with the Lipo you're speaking, and also please note the cell type(or rating) you used in the NiCD pack?

Thanks!<<<<<
