Blue light goes out when mags go in

Just bought a brand new CTW MX2. It was firing fine. I put about a half a mag through it just to make sure it works. Now when loading a mag, the blue light goes out. I push in, or I try to push in the bolt (there is no movement on it really) but nothing happens. When I take the mag out, the blue light is on.

I am using system mags in the gun.

Any ideas?

It shouldn't make any difference but have you tried the original CTW mag?

Yes. It was the first mag I fed. The follower soon broke off.

UPDATE: As of 11:15 today the mags are all feeding. There was a small plastic cover on the part of the bolt release that hits the mag. I took that off, and it seems to be working fine.
