Hey guys, just bought a lightly sued CTW MX2 from ebay. I have a few problems:

The gun worked for a few hours a day, but then it would start chopping bbs. I tried a number of things: I lubed all my mags, filled them up, emptied them and repeated the process. Then I took apart the cylinder and did the air nozzle loctite mod. Still no luck. Sad What's really a bummer is that I've seen what this rifle can do! I had my friend run back and forth at 150 ft and I was easily able to hit him 10/10 times! I've used a number of bbs: airsplat .28s (oddly enough, these are the best bbs for my Systema Revolution, so I figured I'd give it a shot), Echo 1 .25s, hailstorm .28s, TSD .23s, TSD .26s, Elite Force (Umarex) .25s, and G&G .2s. The G&Gs were the ones I used for a while, and they worked beautifully for about 2 mags. I've ordered some airsoft elite .25s in hopes that this solves the chopping issue.

After doing everything listed above, and cleaning the barrel extensively, checking the alignment of the cylinder and hopup, and just making sure that everything looks like it's fitting together nicely, the gun is still not working Sad. Right now, the G&G .2s aren't chopping, but they're also not firing more than 25 feet. They seem like they don't have much power behind them, but I see no reason for that. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Okay, so it looks like everything is working again for the time being. When I did the loctite mod on the piston head, it looks like I reversed that stupid little spring (such a horrible design!) and because of that it slipped over the inner screw head and made it so the gun was only getting half the power. After fixing that issue I'm plinking targets at 200 ft away. Much better! Very Happy

Okay, so it shoots like a dream on semi... not so much on full. Same problem as before- bbs are getting chopped after 3-4 rounds. I think this has to do with the magazines- I don't think the springs are strong enough to push the bbs into the chamber at the rate the gun is cycling. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

What battery are you using?

I found that if I use a 11.1V 2400 mah LiPo, I have the same problem if the cylinder is a standard M90 or M100 spring - the gearbox is simply going to fast to allow the magazines to force the BB's into the chamber at the correct speed, hence chopy chopy on the BB's

These larger batteries are for the M130 springs and upwards!!!!

Try using a 11.2V 1200 mah battery which will give you a slightly lower rate of fire but the magazines should cope.

As an alternative - you may have the original 130 BB magazine and not the 120 BB High Speed - as this can correct this fault. To convert, simply open your magazine up (there are videos on you tube showing how to do this very well), and place 10 - 12 BB's at the very end of the feed spring so that it compresses the spring a little further. Clean and lube the feed tubes, re-assemble and give it a try. cheers

I'm using a firefox 11.1 1200 mah 20c lipo. I've tried a 15c to give it a lower rof, but it does the same thing. Wouldn't an 11.2 up the rof? I'm not using the celcius mags, I believe the mags I have are either MAG brand or A&K brand.

Try and get a CTW or PTW magazine to see if that helps fix the problem as I think its a feed issue and not a mechanical one.

Just lube up the new mag first to ensue its feeding smoothly.

I agree with you about the feeding issue. I've been lubing my mags every day for the last 4 days. I've tried CTW and PTW mags. Still the best ones are the A&K or Mag brand, whichever one it is.

Idea number 2 - have a look inside the hop cylinder (the big silver bit thats made by casting on the end of the barrel) and make sure there are no lips or rough edges for the air nozzle to catch on as this may cause feed issues.

Simply put the cylinder into the barrel as if in the gun and see if it slips in and out freely (oo eeer missus), if its catching file the offending area and try again.

Lets us know how you get on cheers

maybe you should try the nozzle_mod ( https://celcius-ctw.forumotion.com/t236-nozzle-breaking-ctw-mx2 ) - meaning smoothing the edge of the nozzle, so it enters the chamber more easy..

So, a few updates. I tried a stronger cylinder that I had lying around, and hey presto! I could fire on full just fine. My theory is this: an 11.1 20c is just too fast for the typical spring (as suggested earlier). Luckily, I won't really ever be using full auto on this gun as it's so accurate on semi. I'm going to start to see if I can make my mags feed a little faster to hopefully fix the problem completely.

to fix this u have to drill a little bb diameter "hole" in the hopup chamber...just so much that when u put one bb on another and push in...the inner bb stays in place...that will solve those problems..if u still dunno how then send me mail ill sen u photo
